A Tranmere Rovers supporter has been banned from attending football matches for three years following an incident at an away game last month. Paul Roberts, 20, from Wirral, received the Football Banning Order after pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
Roberts was involved in an altercation with opposition fans during Tranmere's League Two fixture at Port Vale's Vale Park on August 22. He was ejected from the Tranmere end but later re-entered the stadium, leading to a second ejection and his arrest.
He appeared at Staffordshire Magistrates' Court on September 19. Roberts said: "He pleaded guilty to an offence of being drunk and disorderly in a public place." In addition to the three-year ban, he was fined £184 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £74 victim surcharge.
The incident occurred during a 1-1 draw, a result that contributed to Tranmere's current position of 10th in League Two with 9 points from six games.
